Build 3: Shotgun Armorer

This build is focused on being up close and personal with the enemy while still tanking through an insane amount of damage.

Skill Trees

Here are all the skills that you will need for shotgun armorer build.

Mastermind Skill Tree

There are some general skills in the Mastermind skill tree that are good for all players. You should pick these skills according to your playstyle but if you want to be a tank for your team then you should focus on skills that help draw fire and ensure that you can revive teammates as easily as possible.

Enforcer Skill Tree

The Enforcer skill is the one skill tree that you want to heavily invest in. You should get as many perks as you can in both Shotgunner and Tank as this build relies heavily on them. You can also spec into a little bit of Ammo Specialist but that can be overcome with other teammates acting as a support.

Ghost and Fugitive Skill Trees

These skills only require one point in them each. You should get Artful Dodger and Martial Arts so that you can stay alive longer and can have more mobility.

Gear and Perk Deck

Primary: Akimbo Goliath Shotguns

Secondary: Goliath Shotgun

Throwable: Incendiary Grenade

Equipment: Doctor Bags

Armor: Improved Combined Tactical Vest

Perk Deck: Armorer

9 M60 Anarchist

The M60 LMG may not be the most used weapon in the class, but it can be overpowered in heists. The gun will two-shot most enemies and has less recoil than the more popular KSP. Because of how controllable the M60 is at range, it is one of the better sniper killers in Payday 2. Below are the perks people will want to use to optimize the build.

  • Medic: Combat Medic, Quick Fix, Combat Doctor
  • Shotgunner: Underdog
  • Sharpshooter: Stable Shot
  • Tank: Resilience, Die Hard, Bullseye, Iron Man
  • Breacher: Hardware Expert
  • Oppressor: Steady Grip, Fire Control, Sure Fire, Lock and Load, Body Expertise
  • Artful Dodger: Duck And Cover, Parkour
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, The Professional
  • Revenant: Nine Lives
  • Martial Arts: Brawler, Bloodthirst, Berserker, Frenzy

Gamers will want to run the Improved Tactical vest with the M60 and their grenade launcher of choice. Concussion grenades and the switchblade are the final items players should use to create one of the best Payday 2 builds.

3 Kingpin Striker

Kingpin is one of the most powerful skill trees in Payday 2. In the hardest mode, gamers will need the best perks. Kingpins are useful for their ability to absorb damage and aggro enemies away from teammates. To get those one taps on enemies, gamers can use the R93 Sniper. Any 100+ damage SMG will work well with the R93, but the Tatonka was chosen for this build. The small SMG has a huge 64 round magazine and reloads extremely fast when in single fire mode.

  • Medic: Combat Medic, Painkillers, Quick Fix, Uppers, Inspire
  • Controller: Forced Friendship, Confident, Joker, Partners in Crime, Hostage Taker
  • Sharpshooter: Stable Shot, Ammo Efficiency, Aggressive Reload, Graze
  • Tank: Resilience, Transporter, Die Hard, Bullseye
  • Ammo Specialist: Scavenger
  • Breacher: Hardware Expert
  • Oppressor: Steady Grip
  • Shinobi: Chameleon
  • Artful Dodger: Duck and Cover
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, The Professional
  • Revenant: Nine Lives

Build 4: Loud and In Charge

The skills for this build are easy to manage and will beef you up without a doubt.

Skill Trees

Following are all the skills that you will need for loud and incharge.

Enforcer

Get the following skills:

  • Scavenger (Ace)
  • Bulletstorm (Ace)
  • Extra Lead (Ace)
  • Fully Loaded (Ace)
  • Steady Grip (Ace)
  • Fire Control (Ace)
  • Surefire (Ace)
  • Body Expertise (Ace)
Revenant
  • Nine Lives (Ace)
  • Up You Go (Ace)
  • Swan Song (Ace)
  • Messiah

Ghost Skill Tree

Gear and Perk Deck

Primary: You can use any rapid-firing ranged weapons like an LMG or an Assault Rifle

Secondary: Any SMG with good range or a good shotgun like Goliath

Throwable: Concussion Grenade

Equipment: Ammo Bag

Armor: Improved Combined Tactical Vest

Perk Deck: Muscle

10 Anarchist Akimbo

One of the best and most enjoyable classes to use is an akimbo build with Anarchist for speed and concealment. Below are the following skill allocations for the class.

  • Controller: Forced Friendship, Confident, Joker, Partners In Crime
  • Sharpshooter: Stable Shot
  • Tank: Resilience, Die Hard, Bullseye
  • Ammo Specialist: Scavenger, Bulletstorm, Extra Lead, Fully Loaded
  • Oppressor: Steady Grip, Fire Control, Sure Fire, Lock and Load, Body Expertise
  • Artful Dodger: Duck And Cover, Inner Pockets
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, The Professional, Optical Illusions, Low Blow
  • Gunslinger: Equilibrium, Akimbo
  • Revenant: Nine Lives
  • Martial Arts: Brawler, Bloodthirst, Berserker

Each of these perks will be geared toward fast movement and accuracy at close range. Players can choose between running the concussion or Molotov. The Akimbo Krinkovs are recognized by many in the community as the best SMGs, and should be used with this class. With a deadly combination of high damage, accuracy, and 60 round mags, these guns are scary good in all modes. Krinkovs have a better rate of fire, and higher pickup percentage than any comparable weapons in the game.

There are a lot of options for attachments, but accuracy, stability, and reload time are the stats to focus on. The primary akimbo guns should be equipped with a fully auto mod. Finally, class is complete with a pistol secondary and melee weapon.

7 Mindless Anarchist

Gamers that want to shut their brains off and fly through hordes of enemies will want to run this build. Akimbo Krinkovs paired with the infamous Grimm shotgun are the primary weapons players will want to use in the build. The Grimm requires little aim or accuracy; pressing the trigger is good enough. If Dragon’s Breath rounds are equipped, every enemy on the screen will die from burn damage.

Players can spam the Grimm so fast that opponents will not be able to react. For a shotgun, the Grimm has terrible accuracy from the hip. However, bad accuracy actually increases the AOE of the Dragon’s Breath rounds, allowing the gun to DPS more enemies at once. Use the following perks:

  • Medic: Combat Medic, Painkillers, Combat Doctor, Inspire
  • Controller: Forced Friendship, Confident, Joker, Partners In Crime
  • Shotgunner: Underdog, Shotgun CQB
  • Tank: Resilience, Die Hard, Bullseye
  • Engineer: Third Law, Sentry Targeting Package, Engineering, Jack Of All Trades, Tower Defense
  • Artful Dodger: Duck And Cover
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, Optical Illusions, Low Blow
  • Gunslinger: Equilibrium, Akimbo
  • Revenant: Nine Lives

With this setup, gamers will have four different AI at their disposal to help take down more enemies. If people need to fire a bullet, they will barely have to aim with the Grimm and dual akimbo SMGs. This is one of the most mindless ways to play Payday 2, but it provides a nice break from the stress of complex builds.

4 Akimbo Shotgun Hacker

Shotguns have been meta in Payday 2 for some time. Specifically, the Goliath 12-gauge shotguns have been among the best options for a few years. Unlike the Grimm shotgun, the Goliaths are extremely accurate weapons. They have more ammo and much better stability. Players will be able to concentrate fire better and deal more damage, but the Goliaths actually require skill to use. They may not be as easy to wield as the Grimm, but they are more effective when used correctly. Running these powerful guns akimbo as a hacker with the following skills is a foolproof way to dominate in Payday 2. Players will want the following skills:

  • Medic: Combat Medic, Quick Fix, Uppers, Inspire
  • Controller: Forced Friendship, Confident, Joker, Partners In Crime, Hostage Taker
  • Shotgunner: Underdog, Shotgun CQB, Shotgun Impact, Close By, Overkill
  • Tank: Resilience, Die Hard, Bullseye, Shock And Awe
  • Ammo Specialist: Scavenger
  • Breacher: Hardware Expert
  • Artful Dodger: Duck And Cover
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, Optical Illusions, Low Blow
  • Gunslinger: Akimbo
  • Revenant: Nine Lives

The key attachments for this 2021 build include the short barrel, shark teeth nozzle, and concealment mod. Any type of pistol will work as a secondary, but the Magnum is probably the best medium to long-range option in the class. The Magnum will complement the close-range akimbo shotguns and gamers will be unstoppable at all ranges. The Hacker skills will give players +20 health for every kill, rewarding aggressive tactics. Hackers can continuously push enemies without dying.

2 Resilient Armorer

The Armorer skill tree has some incredible perks. The most notable is a two second invulnerability after armor breaks. This will give people plenty of time to find cover and regroup before rejoining the fight. Any 100+ damage rifle will work, but the Gewehr 3 seems to fit the mold best. The key here is 100 damage, but a 45 round mag, good fire rate, and quick reload don’t hurt either. Pair the rifle with a fast-firing weapon like the CR805B for a deadly combo of DPS.

  • Medic: Combat Medic, Painkillers, Combat Doctor, Inspire
  • Sharpshooter: Stable Shot
  • Tank: Resilience, Bullseye, Shock and Awe, Iron Man
  • Ammo Specialist: Scavenger
  • Breacher: Hardware Expert
  • Oppressor: Steady Grip, Surefire, Lock N’ Load, Body Expertise
  • Shinobi: Chameleon
  • Artful Dodger: Duck and Cover, Parkour
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, Optical Illusions, The Professional, High Value Target
  • Gunslinger: Equilibrium
  • Revenant: Nine Lives
  • Brawler: Martial Arts, Bloodthirst, Berserker

8 Kingpin Rocket Spammer

The rocket class is extremely addictive. It is one of the best position defense weapons, and shines when players have the high ground on opponents. Reloading can take some time, but an assault rifle will be the backup in chaotic situations. Players will want to use the following perks.

  • Medic: Combat Medic, Quick Fix, Uppers
  • Controller: Forced Friendship, Confident, Joker, Partners In Crime, Hostage Taker
  • Sharpshooter: Stable Shot
  • Shotgunner: Underdog
  • Tank: Resilience, Die Hard, Transporter Bullseye
  • Ammo Specialist: Scavenger, Bulletstorm, Extra Lead, Fully Loaded
  • Engineer: Third Law, Eco Sentry, Jack Of All Trades
  • Breacher: Hardware Expert
  • Oppressor: Steady Grip, Lock N’ Load, Surefire
  • Artful Dodger: Duck And Cover
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, The Professional
  • Martial Arts: Brawler, Bloodthirst, Pumping Iron
  • Revenant: Nine Lives

The weapons in the class will be geared to exploit blast damage and the skill trees above. Among assault rifles, the Union 5.56 is far and away the top option. It has an extremely high fire rate with very good damage values. With the right attachments, players can get to 100 accuracy and 100 stability. Reload speed and an ammo pickup rate of 9 make the Union the king of ARs in Payday 2.

As a secondary, gamers should choose the launcher of their choice. The build may seem cheap, but it is too overpowered to ignore. Players can use their rockets, then grenades, and the Union 5.56. If the tactic works properly, it is disgustingly broken in Payday 2.

1 Coup d’état

Gamers will want to use a dual pistol setup with their Anarchist build. Equip the suit for the two second regen and invulnerability while using the class. This Anarchist build will feature the automatic 18c Akimbo pistols. Each pistol inflicts 50+ damage per shot, which multiplied by a 909 rpm fire rate equals a ton of DPS. Unlike similar weapons, the 18cs have a high pickup and large magazine. As a backup, the AP Pistol provides armor-piercing utility.

  • Medic: Combat Medic, Painkillers, Quick Fix, Uppers, Inspire
  • Controller: Forced Friendship, Joker, Partners in Crime
  • Sharpshooter: Stable Shot
  • Ammo Specialist: Scavenger
  • Oppressor: Steady Grip, Surefire
  • Artful Dodger: Duck and Cover
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, The Professional, Optical Illusions, Unseen Strike, Low Blow
  • Gunslinger: Equilibrium, Akimbo, One Handed Talent, Trigger Happy
  • Revenant: Nine Lives
  • Brawler: Martial Arts, Bloodthirst, Pumping Iron, Berserker, Frenzy

6 Armorer LMG

Another effective Payday 2 build is the Armorer paired with the Buzzsaw 42 LMG. Payday 2 has been LMG/Shotgun dominant for years now, so one had to make the cut. The skills for the class are enumerated below.

  • Medic: Combat Medic, Quick Fix, Uppers, Inspire
  • Controller: Forced Friendship, Joker, Partners In Crime
  • Sharpshooter: Stable Shot
  • Tank: Resilience, Die Hard, Transporter, Bullseye, Shock And Awe, Iron Man
  • Ammo Specialist: Scavenger
  • Oppressor: Steady Grip, Lock N’ Load, Surefire, Body Expertise
  • Artful Dodger: Duck And Cover, Parkour
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, The Professional, High Value Target, Unseen Strike

One of the most popular LMGs right now is the Buzzsaw 42. The weapon has a ridiculous fire rate, and somehow has decent accuracy too. The main selling point of the Buzzsaw is its unmatched DPS values. The gun does 80 damage per bullet with a fire rate of 1,200 rounds per minute. No weapon in Payday 2 has a better damage output than the Buzzsaw MG 42.

After modifying the gun with their preferred attachments, players will want to use a rocket or pistol secondary and a Molotov to round out the build. Skilled Armorers are almost impossible to kill because they have extra health kits and are extremely efficient with ammunition.

Ultimate Edition.

Build 1: Tank – Armor Build

This build is the beefiest of them all because it allows you to go around blasting everyone without taking much damage at all. If you are looking for a build that ensures that you stay alive the longest and help your team with tank capabilities then this is the build for you. The first thing that we are going to look at is the skill trees.

Skill Trees

Here are the skill trees that you are going to need for this build as well as the specific skills that you are going to need active. We are also going to go over the sub-skills that should be active in the specific skill trees as they are an integral part of all the builds.

Each skill tree has 3 branches that have sub-skills in them so, in order to make sure that you have the clearest picture of what the build entails, these sub-skills are also going to be described in detail. That is to ensure that you can make the build easily in-game.

Mastermind Skill Tree

For this skill tree, you are going to completely ignore the Medic branch because there is nothing that that really contributes to you being a tank and it takes away from other better skills that you can have on.

In the Controller branch, on the other hand, you should invest in the Forced Friendship perk which allows you to carry more zip ties so that you can tie up more people and ensure that every situation remains under control.

In the Sharpshooter branch, there are a few perks that you should definitely grab if you want to be an effective tank. These perks are Stable Shot, Rifleman, Aggressive Reload. You will also want to Ace Aggressive Reload so that you can have greater accuracy with the weapons that you use and can get a faster reload speed when you get headshots with weapons in a single fire.

Enforcer Skill Tree

This skill tree is the one where you are going to want to put most of your points in. The first branch is the Shotgunner and you should invest a single point in the Underdog perk so that you deal more damage when enemies are nearby.

The second branch is going to be the most important one out of all the ones that you put on. The first perk that you want in this branch is called Resilience and you will want to Ace it so that you can recover armor faster and reduce the effectiveness of flashbangs used against you. You should then grab Die Hard and Ace it.

This will allow you to take less damage when doing things like fixing the drill and will also increase the armor value of Ballistic vests by 20.

Keeping in the same branch, you will also need to get Bullseye and Ace it so that every headshot that you get gives you back a lot of armor. Then you should move onto the Iron Man perk and Acing it will allow you to wear the Combined Tactical Vest which is an absolute godsend for difficult heists.

The Ammo Specialist branch is also one that you are going to want to invest heavily in as that will give you a lot of good support and make it so that your team can rely on you as the tank. You should get the Scavenger perk and Ace it so that you can regularly get Ammo Drops from enemies.

You should also get both Bulletstorm and Extra Lead and Ace them as well. This will allow you and your team to get more ammo and spend less of it immediately after replenishing.

You should finish off this tree by Acing the Fully Loaded perk so that you can get even more ammo, and get more out of the ammo boxes that you put down.

Technician Skill Tree

You aren’t going to invest much in the Technician skill tree so you will mainly want to focus on the Breacher and Oppressor branches. From the Breacher branch, you should pick up a Hardware Expert. From the Oppressor branch, you should get an Ace the Steady Grip perk. You should also get Surefire just so you have more bullets to go around.

Ghost Skill Tree

The ghost skill tree has some good perks that you need to grab in order to make sure that you take less damage from attacks and aren’t bogged down by stuns. From the Artful Dodger branch, you should get Duck and Cover and Ace both Inner Pockets and Parkour. You should also grab Shockproof just to have some protection against tasers.

From the Silent Killer branch, you should just grab Second Wind and Optical Illusions.

Fugitive Skill Tree

From the Fugitive skill tree you should get Nine Lives and Ace Up You Go from the Revenant branch. From the Brawler branch, you should just get Martial Arts, Bloodthirst, and Berserker. That should round out all the skills that you need to get for this build.

Gear and Perk Deck

Primary: Blackmarket: M308 Rifle

Secondary: Blackmarket: China Puff 40mm Grenade Launcher

Throwable: Concussion Grenade

Equipment: Ammo Bag

Armor: Improved Combined Tactical Vest

Perk Deck: Muscle

5 Stoic KSP Build

One of the most fun classes to use in the game is a KSP Stoic deck build with the Controller and Silent Killer trees built out. The LMG grenade launcher combo is a jack of all trades that will perform well in almost any scenario. All of the important skills are listed below.

  • Medic: Combat Medic, Quick Fix, Uppers, Inspire
  • Controller: Forced Friendship, Confident, Joker, Partners In Crime, Hostage Taker
  • Sharpshooter: Stable Shot
  • Shotgunner: Underdog
  • Tank: Resilience, Die Hard, Shock And Awe, Iron Man
  • Ammo Specialist: Scavenger
  • Breacher: Hardware Expert
  • Oppressor: Steady Grip, Fire Control, Lock And Load
  • Artful Dodger: Duck And Cover, Parkour
  • Silent Killer: Second Wind, The Professional, High Value Target, Unseen Strike

Gamers will want to have the bigger barrel, the foregrip, and the bipod equipped to maximize the effectiveness of the gun. The KSP is one of the simplest guns to control in the game and paired with a grenade launcher, the class will tear through hordes of enemies with little resistance.

Among LMGs, the KSP is a jack of all trades. It has a rate of fire over 900 and 80 damage per round. Ammo pickup is about 15 rounds when wielding the gun, and 100 rounds is more than enough ammo to dish out a ton of damage. With the above attachments, the KSP will have very high accuracy and stability for an LMG as well.

Build 5: The Hulk

This build is heavily focused on tanking damage for your team and completing objectives while under fire.

Here are all the skills that you will need.

Mastermind

Secondary: Any good range SMG to take advantage of skills.

Throwable: Stoic’s Hip Flask

Equipment: Trip Mines and Shaped Charges

Armor: Improved Combined Tactical Vest

Perk Deck: Stoic

Build 2: Tank and LMG Build

This build is a lot different from the other one as it focuses more on damage than tanking although you can still take a lot of hits. Just make sure to take cover with this one as it will allow you to stay alive much easily.

Skill Trees

Here are all the skills that you are going to need for this build.

Mastermind Skill Tree

For the Medic branch, you need to grab Combat Medic and Quick Fix. You will also need to grab and Ace Painkillers, Combat Doctor and Inspire. These skills are going to be necessary for higher difficulties and will make you a good part of any team that you are in.

You don’t need to get anything from the Controller branch but you do need to get Stable Shot from the Sharpshooter branch just so that your weapons can be a lot more stable and you don’t miss as much.

Enforcer Skill Tree

For the Enforcer skill tree, you are going to get just one skill in the Shotgunner branch which is Underdog. It will help you out with crowded situations so that you can hold your own. In the Tank branch, however, you are going to get Resilience, Transporter, Bullseye, and Iron Man.

You should also Ace all four of these skills so that you can take more hits, gain more mobility, and make sure that you are able to deal with any situation that comes your way.

You should also invest some points in the Ammo Specialist branch and get Scavenger. It will help you to keep up your ammo count and ensure that you never run out of bullets.

Technician Skill Tree

You don’t need to put any points in the Engineer branch of this skill tree. You should, however, put points in the Breacher branch and get a Hardware Expert and Drill Sawgeant. This will help you make drilling less painful. In the Oppressor branch, you should get an Ace Steady Grip, Fire Control, and Lock N’ Load.

These 3 skills are going to help your aim and accuracy, and ensure that you don’t get penalized much when firing when moving.

Ghost Skill Tree

In the Ghost skill tree, you can ignore the Shinobi branch as it really doesn’t have anything for tanks. The Artful Dodger, on the other hand, has some skills that you should grab. The first is Duck and Cover and the second is Parkour so that you have additional movement in order to dodge attacks and stay away from danger.

The Silent Killer branch is one that you will want to invest in as that will help you remain undetected for as long as possible. The perks that you are going to want to get are Second Wind, Optical Illusions, and The Professional. You should also Ace The Professional so that your silencer is likely to be detected.

Fugitive Skill Tree

From the Fugitive skill tree, you can ignore the Gunslinger branch. In the Revenant branch, you should get Up You Go, and get and Ace Nine Lives and Swan Song. In the Brawler branch, you should just get Martial Arts.

Gear and Perk Deck

Primary: Any LMG although Brenner or Buzzsaw are recommended

Secondary: Krinkov (Any SMG with good range should do)

Throwable: Concussion Grenade

Equipment: Electric Brass Knuckles

Armor: Improved Combined Tactical Vest

Perk Deck: Anarchist
