Hbm’s nuclear tech mod for minecraft 1.7.10
Содержание:
Preamble
The Nuclear Tech Mod has many, many recipes, it’s unlikely that any one person can memorize them all. While there are plenty of mods that aid you in that regard, only Not Enough Items will show you all recipes, uncluding ones that make use of modded machines. Using NEI is crucial, and so is understanding how it works. Here are a few tips that might make your life a whole lot easier:
- The NEI overlay can be toggled by pressing ‘O’ while looking at your inventory
- On the bottom left corner of your inventory, given that the overlay is enabled, there is a button for an options menu. It is advised that you turn on the «Highlight Tooltips» option in the «World» caategory, as it will displaay the name of whatever block you are currently aiming at on screen. Alternatively, there is a NEI addon called «WAILA» which has the same core functionality, plus some extras.
- Pressing R on an item will show you how it’s made. In addition, pressing U allows you to see all the recipes it is used in.
- When looking at recipes, you might not always see what you want to at first glance. If multiple pages are available, on the bottom there’s buttons to go through pages of the crafting machine you’re looking at (e.g. if you’re looking at a workbench recipe, the bottom arrow buttons will lead you to more recipes of the workbench). The top arrow buttons, if available, will lead you to recipes in other machines (e.g. if you’re looking at a workbench recipe, the top arrows will lead you to recipes of other machines, for example the furnace). This is very important, since some items can be made in multiple machines, and the machine that comes up first might not be available to you at the moment.
The Hell Zone
The nether has not changed significantly since installing Nuclear Tech, aside from two things:
- There’s now a couple of ores spawning in the nether, most notably uranium, tungsten and sulfur, all of which are also found in the overworld
- The nether in its entirety is now slightly radioactive
The last fact might frighten you, but be assured it’s just a mild 0.1 RAD/s which isn’t all that big of a deal. It would take almost 3 hours for you to die in the nether from radiation, so take your time and get some quartz. Might as well use some phosphorous, but watch out for the white ingots — they’ll set you on fire if you don’t have a suit to protect yourself from them. There’s also plenty of uranium which becomes interesting later.
Production
See: Guide: Euphemium Creation for proper guide on all methods of production.
According to its «lore», it was first discovered among a pile of depleted Schrabidium nuclear fuel. Although it isn’t some kind of decay element, it does show that it is commonly formed when Schrabidium is put under intense conditions, practically the same as how Uranium turns into Schrabidium while under similar conditions.
In order to obtain Euphemium, you need to breed a quad Solinium (Schrabidium isotope, requires 4 heat to burn out) rod into a «Burnt Out Quad Schrabidium Rod», place it in a crafting table or your inventory 2×2 grid to make 1 Euphemium nugget, making it extremely expensive, as a Solinium quad rod is made by 2 ingots, 6 Solinium nuggets, each Schrabidium ingot costing ~+15 Million HE (considering if you used the Schrabidium Transmutation Device), all of that for just 1 nugget, so, value your Euphemium. This method is much easier if you only use Solinium as a waste product of Schrabidium fuel or other Euphemium production methods.
Another form of production is in the chemical plant, Euphemium dynosynthesis process, very expensive as well and requires a Euphemium ingot to start with.
The Satellites
Orbital Death Ray
The orbital death ray is a satellite that lets you «summon» death rays with 15 seconds cooldown, those death rays play an animation then initiate a small N² Explosion and shoots out blue/purple energy projectiles for extra destruction, open the linked interface and a map will show near surroundings, left click to death rays the coordinate it shows.
Also, the ray will fall, impact, and stop at the first surface it touches, this means if you are inside a cave and then use this ray, it will not fall to your Y position bypassing all stone blocks, but will instead hit the surface.
Surface Mapping Satellite
It displays currently loaded chunks, that’s it. Open the satellite control interface and it will show you a basic map of them.
Xenium Resonator
Allows teleportation with no cooldown using a satellite designator linked to it. Does not support dimension jumping.
Asteroid Mining Ship
This one needs a cargo landing pad, this rocket periodically will come back to earth and return to space, it will deploy its cargo in the cargo landing pad, the items that it can give you are (all in the form of powder, unless otherwise specified):
- Vanilla materials
- Coal (very common)
- Iron (common)
- Lapis Lazuli (common)
- Redstone (very common)

It is perhaps the most useful satellite in the mod.
(The landing cargo pad will require a satellite ID-chip with the same frequency as the satellite itself too.)
Pros and Cons
Pros
- BWR, no coolant required.
- Can make huge amounts of power with the right setup and fuel.
- 100% modular, allows creativity.
- Can run on a multitude of fuels for your needs, capabilities, and desires.
- Will maintain use even in Fusion or Watz stages.
- Very aesthetic compared to the regular reactors.
- Extremely violent meltdown.
Neutral
- Designing can be complicated or take a lot of space.
- Fuel depletion percentage very slowly decreases effectiveness of the rods.
- Can take a long time to «fully» deplete (rather deplete to an appreciable percentage), which means breeding can take a very long time but the power produced is incredible even from little fuel.
Cons
- Egregiously expensive.
- Self-igniting fuels cannot be fully stopped from reacting unless manually removed.
- Steam production can be very high, requiring use of numerous Industrial or Leviathan Steam Turbines, which are also expensive.
- Extremely violent meltdown.
Tips and Trivia
- The IRL RBMK technically isn’t a BWR, it’s design is unique to itself, but it’s referred to as a BWR for sake of simplicity and since that’s the reactor classification it most closely resembles.
- A planned machine called a «deaerator», which is a machine that purifies water by removing dissolved oxygen and other gases, is to work in tandem with the RBMK.
- Neptunium fuel (and other fast fissioning fuels) only requires fast neutrons to split, and splits into more fast neutrons. Use this to your advantage.
- Control rod groups can be very useful if used right.
- If things are getting out of control, AZ-5 could potentially make the difference between a saved reactor and a meltdown.
- The AZ-5/A3-5 button on the model of the console is actually called «SPAM» instead, which is a play on the word «SCRAM», which is basically the western equivalent to the A3-5.
- If you right click the «HOW 2 RBMK» book on the console, it will actually give you a guide book which is basically an abridged version of this wiki page.
- It can be burned in a furnace for 4 operations.
- Since the book is a part of the model, it will remain there even if you «take» it. There is a cooldown of several seconds until you can pick up another to mitigate this slightly.
- Highly prone to Chernobyl jokes.
- Some fuels are not finished.
- Spent fuel can contain Xenon-135
If you do not wish to have the Xenon byproduct, you can just expose the highly depleted rod to a neutron source rod (maybe near some neutron reflectors so you don’t have to use too many source rods) and when the Xenon burns away, remove it manually.
poison, which can be extracted in tiny amounts if it is high enough.
- While fuel rods cool much faster when inside the reactor, this may not be feasible if you are actively replacing depleting fuel rods or if the fuel is self-igniting, use a Spent Fuel Pool Drum to cool them down in these cases.
- Fuel rods increase in radioactivity as they deplete to simulate the effect of accumulating fission and neutron absorption products.
- This includes DRX as well.
- Xenon-135 also massively increases radiation.
- The exceptions are Highly Enriched Australium Fuel and Low Enriched Australium Fuel, which are fully stable even after depleting and accumulating Xenon.
Recipes
There are a few select recipes that can be used in the hadron. Most require the use of capsules as opposed to cells as input, but sometimes regular items may be used. The recipes for the capsules themselves can be found using NEI. Most capsules are not dangerous drops. Input order does not matter. For a chart based list — look into gallery.

I don’t think there is any way I can get the operating level above 30ish%.
Conclusion: 50% and 100% give the biggest amounts of energy. Between these two, there’s an insignificant difference, the 100% giving better results. Maybe with bigger amounts of fuel or just hotter fuel, there would be a bigger difference.
I didn’t take notes about coolant consumption, and I am not planning to complete this thing. Feel free to do it yourself.
The Burner Press
The burner press uses (as the name implies) combustible materials (i.e. furnace fuel) to press ingots. Since ingots can be pressed into many different shapes, you need to make a demountable piece that helps the metal become the shape you want it to: The stamp. Flat stamps can be crafted with a desired material (for example, iron), some bricks and a pile of redstone dust. While a flat stamp does have some uses, they aren’t all that important, hence why we are going to upgrade it a little. For that, open your trusty template folder and select «Plate Stamp» on the first page, with the plate stamp’s material matching the one of the flat stamp you have just crafted. Voilà, you have created a stamp, ready for use! Now fire up your burner press, wait for the gauge to hit the yellow area, put the stamp on the top and some copper at the bottom, and now the magic starts: You have made yourself your very own copper plates. Note that even when idle, the press will burn fuel, so either remove unwanted fuel when not in use or use a lever to «pause» the press. Note that the temperature gauge will rise as long as fuel is burning, the hotter the press, the faster it will go. Don’t worry, the press will stop heating up if the maximum is reached, it cannot overheat.
Modular Design
The large 3 at the top of the GUI signifies the size of the reactor. This means that the reactor’s size can be expanded (up to size 15) so it runs much faster. The reactor control computer must preferably be in the middle of the reactor, with up to 7 layers below and 7 above and one in the middle, totaling 15. If you don’t want it like this, you can just expand on the default size upwards and have up to 9 layers.
With the increased size, the reactor runs much faster, which means it consumes its fuel faster and produces energy faster. All of its buffers increase in size too (water, fuel, etc).
Comparison: Largest (15), Normal (3), Smallest (1).

Dangers
The Hunter Chopper is automatically hostile to all mobs and players and will start attacking as soon as it reaches optimal altitude, if not instantly. It has an approximate health of 750 and very good resistance to damage.
It uses an «Emplacement Gun» that you gave it for its primary mean of attack. It is an automatic gun of some kind that does not run out of ammunition. It hits fast and it can kill mobs very quickly.
It also occasionally drops concussion bombs (bombs that don’t cause block damage) in groups of 5, usually when it is directly above a mob/player or in a scenario when its Emplacement Gun cannot be used effectively.
Background
The Hunter Chopper is an artificial boss mob crafted by the player in the Assembly Machine. It spawns as soon as it is placed down, like a spawn egg, and will immediately attempt to gun down any mob it finds, including you. Its only purpose is to drop scrap CMB steel for , other than that, it drops no XP or any other useful items. When finally killed, it explodes causing moderate terrain damage.
Creation
The Hunter Chopper is artificially constructed, it does not spawn naturally anywhere. It is primarily made of CMB steel, making it quite tough to make. It also uses expensive Fusionary Watz Plant calculation matrices for its onboard computer systems and presumed AI.
Uses/Farming
The only purpose of the Hunter Chopper is to acquire a warped piece of CMB steel for Gerald. Excess CMB scrap can be smelted back into CMB steel ingots.
You cannot use it for your own purposes directly, unfortunately (such as flying it or making it attack/protect certain players/mobs), but you can technically plant it in an enemy location and force them to kill it or relocate.
How to Bring it Down
The Hunter Chopper is highly resistant to conventional weapons, even some low-level turrets, and nuclear weapons.
It will attempt to evade slow-moving projectiles such as mini-nukes and Heavy Turret Shells.
If you have no ranged instant-kill weapons, you will be forced to use heavy anti-aircraft weapons.
The best method is to use the WIP Turret, which is a heavy anti-aircraft gun, it can take down a Hunter Chopper in ~2 well-placed hits, however, the AAA shell it uses causes heavy block damage, meaning it could destroy friendly structures or itself by accident. Stinger rockets are the next best thing to use, they do minor terrain damage and are guided so the Hunter Chopper cannot evade it. Turrets are slower, but can still work.

NOTICE
The Watz Reactor is currently being reworked, this article may no longer be accurate when said reworking is completed and released.
The Watz Power Plant is a multiblock reactor that generates power and Poisonous Mud using Pellets and a Titanium Filter. Using a Multiblock Structure marker is recommended when building it.
The Watz Plant is very large, here is the breakdown of all its required components:
- 96 Watz Stability Elements
- 88 Watz Reaction Chambers
- 44 Watz Supercoolers
- 88 Reinforced Control Rods
- 12 Electricity Ports
- 1 Watz Reactor Control Computer Core
- 4 Access Hatches
- 172 Reinforced Stone
General Run Down
The Watz Power Plant needs pellets and a Titanium Filter to work, every pellet has his own statistics like max-age (how many ticks the pellet lasts at a maximum), power per tick (how much power it generates every tick), power multiplier (multiplies the power generated with each pellet), heat provided (how much heat the pellet generates, which effects waste per tick), heat multiplier (multiplies the heat generated with each pellet) and decay multiplier (multiplies the decay rate for every pellet in the power plant).
Emergency ejection
When a pellet reaches its end of life and depletes, it turns into a lead reflector and begins the cycle again. These lead reflector pellets turn into lead powder when they themselves deplete.
If the Poisonous Mud internal buffer of the power plant is full, the power plant will automatically eject the waste trough a random access hatch.
Typical «meltdown»
The Watz Plant has no maximum heat limit, but since heat also correlates with waste production, you may want to keep it down to prevent waste overflow.
If the waste overflows even emergency ejection, it will completely break off its casing from the overflow and leak mud all over the place. However, there is a small chance that the Watz will explode into a Fölkvangr Field like a F.L.E.I.J.A.
List
-
Thingy
- Best DFC core. Invisible to the creative menu and NEI. Still craftable.
- Sorta a secret, but many people know it exists at this point.
- Very Expensive, But well worth it. Allows for one if not the best power output and power to material ratio.
- ZOMG Cannon
- Negative energy super-weapon. Not invisible at all. Crafted using the assembly machine.
- Not really a secret.
- Very Good for destroying bases and things quickly, it’ll shred through any block necessary.
- Uses Euphemium Nuggets as ammo.
- Although it absolutely destroys everything it touches, high viscosity fluids (such as buildcraft oil) just delete it, due to it not having a propulsion of its own.
-
The Book Of Boxcars (aka Black Book)
- «Magic» book necessary to create Electronium. Invisible to both the creative menu and NEI. Can be crafted if Baby Mode is enabled. Otherwise, it can only sometimes be found in a Meteor Dungeon.
- Also can be bought from the hidden catalog or 100 caps.
- Not really a secret, since certain high-tier items need it in order to be made.
- Used to craft multiple special and bizarre items, including Boxcar Bullets, Metastable U-238-m2, and a few more.
-
Euphemium Armor
- Invincible armor, quite simply. Invisible to the creative menu, but not NEI. Can be crafted, though it is extremely expensive.
- Not a secret, everyone knows it exists.
- tile.#undef.name
- An indestructible statue that can be found in the Meteor Dungeon. Hidden from both the creative menu and NEI. You can give it a Cursed Revolver and a Broken Pocket Watch. It glows brightly.
- Actually kind of a secret.
- Gives the Regeneration effect when it is equipped with the pocket watch and a cursed revolver, similar to a beacon.
- The initials “ELB” are inscribed on the base. This is likely referring to the character Euphemia Li Britannia from Code Geass.
-
Meteor Dungeon
- A super-rare generated structure that contains many special items and areas.
- Not much of a secret at all in any sense of the term, it’s just rare.
- Spawns Every 15000 chunks or so.
- Broken Pocket Watch
- Used in Euphemium Armor, serves little purpose outside of that. Hidden from the creative menu, craftable.
- Not really a secret either.
- The Polaroid
- An item that does, things(?) Not hidden from the creative menu, craftable.
- It being readily available in the creative menu makes it one of the least «secretive» item on this list.
- Has multiple textures and writings at the bottom of it, it all depends on game/world load.
- item.memory.name
- A battery item that has an obscene amount of power storage. It was an item made to test batteries of extremely high capacities. It may be considered the item equivalent or predecessor to the FEnSU. It was usually used to test DFC configurations as Spark Energy Storage Blocks are insufficient for it. It is hidden from both the creative menu and NEI.
- Sort of a secret.
-
Locksmith Table
- Put a stick into the randomizer slot of a locksmith table, Guess what. It explodes.
- More of a joke/Easter egg, but sure.
- heh.
-
Ducks
- Some Chickens are actually NTM «Ducks».
- More of an Easter egg, as the beginning of the world says you can «Duck» by pressing «O».
-
NTM Dirt
- Right-clicking it with a brittle spade will make it drop the 3 «elements» needed to craft Metastable-U238.
- Sorta a secret.
- Can be bought from Hidden Catalog or found in the Meteor dungeons.
-
Fabulous Hat
- May or may not exist.
- Fabulous.
- Unique.
-
Hidden Catalogue
- Only (legitimately) obtainable by obtaining special achievement and completing the Secret Puzzle. Sells powerful items at a sharp discount. To spawn it in use «/give @p hbm:item.bobmazon_hidden»
- Sorta a secret, except lots of people know about it now.
- You Need the Level 6 NTM Achievement to buy anything.
- Bobcat
- Pink Log
- Oak log but with pink colored wood. Normal colored bark makes it indistinguishable from regular oak. Hidden from the creative menu and NEI. Has a 1/10000 of spawning randomly in trees instead of normal oak logs, it is only made in world generation, it cannot be grown. Needed to craft .
- A secret, but it can be found accidentally in recipes easily due to it being able to be used like regular wood and is needed to craft Gerald.
- Secret Air Strike Designators
- There are 3 secret air strike designators that you can get through commands. One is VT stinger rockets, it shoots multiple homing missiles. Another drops cloud in a line, and the 3rd drops boxcars in a line.
- Actually a secret
Gerald The Construction Android
Probably the most powerful weapon in the mod, its range is about 1000+ blocks and no radiation.
Its goal is to build a superweapon on the moon — Tom, or its other name «Project Horizons»
In order to use Gerald, you need to link him to a satellite designator and send him to the moon using Soyuz-FG and the Orbital Module. Then, when you launch Gerald to the moon, you can set the X and Z coordinates in the satellite designator, and Tom will fly to the place where you set the coordinates in the designator
- After you have launched Gerald, you will get the achievement «Apogee».
- After you specify the coordinates and launch the Tom, you will get the achievement «The Horizons».
- Gerald is a reference to Fallout: Equestria Project Horizons. Tom is the nickname of the moon rock missile that would launch at the Fo:E world and cause an extinction-level event. The robots that were sent to the moon to build it, were supposed to be Gerald The Construction Android.
Metallurgy 101
Armed with copper plates (which you can make into copper panels at an anvil for 4 pieces each) and hopefully some tungsten, you can now craft your second machine, the blast furnace. This machine has many recipes, but for now you’ll only need the two most important ones: Steel and minecraft grade copper (also known as red copper). The blast furnace can be powered with coal or lava, which gets stored internally so that nothing is lost when the furnace is currently idling.
- Steel: A piece of iron and a lump of coal make two ingots of steel
- Red copper: It’s an alloy of redstone and regular «industrial grade» copper.
The mod makes use of many alloys, but these two are the most important ones. The furnace is slow, so it would be a good idea to make multiple (or to steal them from a factory structure).
